I was wondering if completion of this task is referring to out of the box configuration, and refinements are listed separately. Should any UI tasks be shown with dependency lines?

This refers to the first-pass of UI design. There will be later refinements that will come out of group feedback and testing that will be entered as separate tickets.

Everything here requires some development though, none of it is exactly 'out of the box configuration'. But there's some grey area between what's "out of the box" and what's not.
